As a faculty member at Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy, I recognize the importance of fostering a professional environment characterized by mutual respect, integrity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to student success. I view collegiality as an essential component of academic life and strive to support the mission of the College of Pharmacy through meaningful contributions to my colleagues, students, and the broader university community.
Throughout my appointment, I have actively supported departmental and college initiatives that contribute to the success of our educational programs. I have assisted faculty colleagues with examination monitoring, proctored Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and participated in interviews for prospective pharmacy students and pharmacy residents. These activities have provided opportunities to contribute to the recruitment, assessment, and development of future pharmacists while supporting the operational needs of the College.
A significant aspect of my collegial contribution has been my commitment to student mentorship and academic support. I have worked collaboratively with faculty members to help prepare students for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) by providing practice patient cases, proctoring practice examinations, and developing oncology and biostatistics review materials. These efforts were designed to complement existing curricular activities and enhance student readiness for professional practice.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I routinely collaborate with faculty colleagues, preceptors, and healthcare professionals to promote student learning, advance scholarly activities, and support experiential education. Through these partnerships, I strive to be a dependable colleague who contributes positively to team efforts, shares expertise in oncology pharmacy practice, and supports initiatives that improve educational and professional outcomes for our students.
