I am a musician, composer, teacher, adventure racer, and full-blown nerd. I do all of this in my free time, and I do it all one-handed. I was born with one hand and have learned to adapt to life in all of the best ways.
I recently graduated from Iowa State University with a BA in Music Education and Composition ('26) and studying with Dr. Christopher Hopkins and Professor Joshua Johnson. I will begin my master's at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music soon. My works have been recorded and performed by many ensembles including Enigma Classica, Horns of the Heartland, Ames Youth Choir, and Iowa State Wind Ensemble. Many of my works draw inspiration from texts or personal life experiences.
Outside of composing and classes, I have also been Music Director community theater productions of musicals including "The Sound of Music," "Shrek: The Musical," "The SpongeBob Musical," and "Something Rotten!" as well as Assistant Music Director for Iowa State University's production of "Die Fledermaus". Pictured right I am warming up the cast before our last dress rehearsal for "Shrek". I have also been music director for my own productions such as "The Tragedy of Macbeth" and "Little Miss Apocalypse". More info available at the subpage. I also am a performing pianist/accompanist, organist, and French hornist and teach lessons for voice, theory, and piano.

Adventure Racing is a sport where you trek, paddle, and bike with all orienteering. The trekking can include regular hiking or running, and sometimes it depends on the harshness of terrain. Paddling can be both canoeing and kayaking. Occasionally it even includes rope section in the forms of ascents or rappels. It's a really fun sport that I recommend to everyone. I actually had a world record in this sport. I was the youngest person to have completed a three-day expedition-length adventure race. That record was broken in 2019 by a young girl named Emma Jones at the Florida Sea2Sea race at age 11. Congratulations to her! I competed in Expedition Canada summer of 2022 and that ended in a DNF (did not finish), always room to grow and learn from those.
I am both an educational nerd and a gaming nerd. I have played Pokemon since fourth grade, and have collected cards for a lot longer. I love learning all types of math, science, and coding. I also started playing Dungeons and Dragons a few years ago and I currently am Dungeon Master for one group.
