Forming a Government

Forming a Government

After the primary, candidates formed campaign committees. They hired chiefs of staff, pollsters, accountants, speech writers, poster makers, and electronic advertisers.

In addition, an election board was formed. They set the prices for everything and were in charge of the money. They gave each candidate's team $1,100,000 to spend on their campaign and all expenses needed to be approved by the election board. If a candidate wanted to hang a poster or pass out buttons they had to pay the election board.
