Twice during the campaign we had debates. Each candidate was responsible for writing up to ten questions and preparing to answer them. Before the debate, the candidates passed their questions out to members of the class.
The Election Board was responsible for running the debates. They set up the classroom (along with the rest of the class.) They called on students to ask questions and determined who rang the bell first to answer the question first. Both candidates were responsible for answering all questions.
The debates were important for the candidates to get out the issues they were most interested in and to form their platform.
