Objectives and Evaluation

My objective is to able to practice python algorithm and function fluently, understand all the concepts taught in lesson for computing and current technology and able to calculate all accounting ratios and linear regression.

To begin with, I was dissatisfied with my performance in learning python since I was not familiarized with the process of writing python function like recursive function. This is a abstract concept to me and it take me a long time to digest. Nevertheless, I think I still have some improvement in this part. After some repeat studying of the tutorials, I started to alter the original programs and run it without any bugs. This give me the sense of success and encouragement to me to push me forward to try another program. This is a challenging task but I enjoy the feeling to breakthrough a great hill.

For current technology, I will admit that my performance was just fair. I have a in-depth knowledge of what taught in lecture but I was not familiarized with some practical skills such as MySQL and CSS. This is caused by lack of revision in practical part and I should work harder using some useful websites such as codeacademy and c9.io in the coming year.

In addition, I am satisfied with my progress in finance. At the beginning, I was not interested in this subject due to my poor result in Economics in high school. After I spend more time on lesson and leisure time to catch up the lessons, it was not as challenging as I expect and I gain good results in the phase test. I hope I can strive for excellence in this module finally.

Last but not least, we had a ALL project of the three modules combined to create a web page. What our group have done is create a minibus service page of our TCC company. In the website, information of minibus arrival time and the fare was displayed to our users to facilitate their trip to their destination. The experience to work with my teammates are unforgettable since we discuss and collaborate to finish a website from ideas to a webpage. The process not only taught us some practical programming language and financial ratios of a company, but the ability to share your viewpoints and managing the whole work. Although we are only beginners of programmers and face various difficulties in the process, we will have progress and make another useful apps or website to serve our citizens in the future.
