God With Us
23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
St. Paul says that God is not far from each of us...He tells us in his letter to the Philippians that the LORD is near...But are we near to Him?...Do we try to get closer to Him?...
St. James says we must come near to God, and then He will come near to us...So we must put out an effort to get near to Him...So we must seek and call upon the LORD, for the LORD is near to those who call upon Him and seek Him...We must seek the LORD with our heart and our soul, and when we do we will find Him...The heart is very important, because it houses our love and our love for Him...We must have love in our heart to get close and near to Him...And this effort requires believing in Him...And also, our effort requires putting our faith in Him, and also our trust...We need faith, belief, and trust in our hearts to get near Him...
When we seek Him, we will find Him, if we use our hearts...We must pray to God and use His Mediator that He has sent us...When we pray and sincerely communicate with Him with our hearts and souls, we will draw near to Him...He wants us to be faithful to Him...When we are faithful to God it is pleasing to Him...He wants to be near to us...This is why He sent His Son to us, and He is called Immanuel, which means God with us...He sent His Son, so that we may be near Him...
