Twin Block functional appliance

If the lower jaw fails to grow in accordance with the upper jaw and gives rise to a significant overbite, the problem may be corrected at the younger age with Twin Block functional appliance.

• The Twin Block functional appliance is a removable 2-piece appliance. It is easy to tolerate when wearing.
• The appliance is targeting to modify the growth of lower jaw.
• Treatment with Twin Block should be administered at the younger age, preferably before permanent dentition is complete.
• Appliance should be worn full time.
• Depending upon the stage of growth at the time when treatment starts, the treatment may take 9 to 12 months to see the progress.
• Braces usually will be added once Twin Block is phasing out.
