Freebies is an app focused on the process of giving and receiving. The goal was to design an app where people can donate and exchange free items with their neighbors all across the country.

My role was UX designer leading the app and responsive website design from conception to delivery. I conducted interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, iterating on designs, determining information architecture and responsive design.
I asked a poll question on an online forum to develop interview questions, which was later used to conduct my user interviews. Both the general consensus of the internet forum and my interview participants agreed that having free everyday items that they could pull up on a mobile app and search for would make their lives easier. Some others say they have junk lying around their homes that they just haven't had the time to take to a donation center. But listing it in a app and having a neighbor pick it up would make things easier for them.
I applied design changes like adding icons along with the text, based on insights from the usability studies

Going foward, my next steps are going to be keep ideating and improving my designs. I need to conduct more research and usability studies in the near future and focus on other user pain points.
