FADE IN:
INT. POTTER'S STUDIO - DAY
We take in the charming state of the studio filled with beautiful pottery, lush plants, and colorful sun rays through the window curtains.
Gradually we hear the sound of heavy footsteps and then the thud of someone bumping into a shelf and pottery clinking. The camera pans to introduce the Potter as he stabilizes the shelf he bumped into. He proceeds to walk further into the studio and knocks into a table and bumps his head against a hanging plant. Eventually he makes it to his work bench and takes a moment to fold his large body onto his small stool.
The Potter takes a deep breath before beginning work on his unfinished pottery project from the previous day. He starts the potter’s wheel and proceeds to carefully mold the clay into the shape of a teacup. He then carries the clay to his work table and attaches the teacup arm with painstaking care. After that he brings the teacup over to the stone kiln and places it inside before closing the oven and walking out of frame. The camera stays trained on the oven but we hear the Potter traipse through the studio (footsteps, sound of moving objects, etc).
Eventually the Potter comes back and we see his back as he opens the oven and then the camera cuts to a similar shot of his back as he works on the details of his teacup. We pan around him as he is focusing hard on the teacup and finishing the last detail (carving). Satisfied he sets the teacup down and turns to grab a bowl of glaze when his large arm knocks the teacup and sends it toppling over the table and we hear the sound of it as it shatters against the stone floor.
With a great sigh the Potter hefts himself out of his chair and collects the pieces of pottery and adds it to a large bin full of other broken pottery. As the potter moves away we see a previously unnoticed collection of planters and mosaic pieces that informs the audience that breaking his work happens often but he makes the most of it by creating new things with the broken pieces.
The camera finally settles back on the Potter as he has gathered more clay and prepares to start his next project. The sound of wind blowing and windchimes come in as the camera pans back.
