JA Programs in Central Virginia

Junior Achievement of Central Virginia

Junior Achievement of Central Virginia is a nonprofit that inspires and prepares young people for success.

Junior Achievement of Central Virginia provides several ways that you can get involved whether you’re someone looking to volunteer, part of a district or school looking for educational materials, or part of a business looking to help us expand the reach of our mission.

If you're a volunteer looking to share your story and inspire students to take charge of their future, you're in the right place

Work with students in Kindergarten through age 25. Programs can be teacher- or volunteer-led, vary in length, and focus on at least one of the following: money skills, job skills, or entrepreneurship. Volunteers share stories to bring sessions to life.

Volunteers spend 5-6 hours assisting their small group of high school students through a budgeting simulation. Days are fast, fun, and meaningful and excellent for individual volunteers or groups. No expertise required!

High school students learn work-readiness skills before visiting a local company as a class. Volunteers facilitate a workplace tour, ethical dilemma discussions, and mock interviews.

In partnership with ChamberRVA in early October, 8th graders explore over 100 booths representing careers in our community. Sign up as an exhibitor to snag a booth or as a volunteer to assist with day-of operations.
