JA Job Shadow
Open to companies that can host at least 20 students onsite.
Curriculum + Site Visit
JA Job Shadow is a comprehensive experience that helps students design an individualized career path through teacher-led curriculum and a class visit to a partner company.
JA Job Shadow consists of four teacher-led sessions in the classroom and a three- to four-hour class site visit to a partner company in a field of interest. During the site visit, students will go on a company tour, listen to a human resources presentation, talk through an ethics scenario with workplace hosts to consider the balance of professionalism and ethics, and practice conducting informational interviews with their volunteers. Students will practice skills they learned in the classroom to determine if a company is the right fit for them.

Planning for your site visit:
Visits require one main coordinator and 5-15 additional volunteers to provide tours, lead interviews, facilitate activities, and share stories.
Lunch: Company partners typically provide lunch for visiting students.
JA will provide a sample agenda, site coordinator guide, and work with your coordinator to create a custom activity to represent your company. All training and materials are also provided.
