I am from Grand Rapids, Michigan but moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend my dream school, TCU. Growing up in a Christian household, religion has played a huge role in my life, which is why TCU was perfect for me.
Being from Michigan meant beautiful warm summers on the lake, but terribly cold winters with icy roads and 10 inches of snow. I've loved being active and working out my entire life whether thats going on walks with my dogs, wake surfing and doing other water sports, or going hiking. But, Michigan winters make it near to impossible to do any of that so I had to get into the habit of going to the gym in the winter time.
When I moved to TCU, I didn't know my community, and had no idea where to work out so i'd spent the first few weeks miserable until I discovered the Recreation Center. I now go there everyday, because it not only improves my physical health but gives my mind a break from all of the academic stress. As someone who has struggled for a long time with my mental health, I cannot express my appreciation for the universities workout facility because it truly helps me everyday.
