As a fight choreographer, I take my work very seriously (despite the picture above). Just like how no one ever speaks without justification, no one should ever throw a punch, or take a stab without similar justification. Everything is for a reason.

What I may lack in experience as a young fight choreographer I make up for in - well, experience. I have been a rapier fencer in the Society for Creative Anachronisms for the last five years, and during my time in the S.C.A. I have been awarded a couple honors for winning tournaments (they include a Two-Hander Tourney, a Plank Fight Tourney, and the 22nd Tournament of the Courtier, among others). My primary weapon is rapier - however, due to the creative and curious nature of the S.C.A. and of myself, I have also had basic training in other disciplines which I infuse into my work - these disciplines include Aikido and Fiore Broadsword technique, as well as a smattering of others.

What experience I have had as a fight choreographer is primarily in independent film. My credits include fight choreography for a series of superhero parody movies, an artistic short film about the combative nature of society and artistic creation, a Star Wars fan film called The Blood Crystal, and the 2019 Footlight production of 'Up, Down, Strange, Charmed, Beauty, and Truth' by Edward Allen Baker, directed by Danielle Kropveld at Western Michigan University. My most recent work can be seen in the 'Park Ranger Pip' short below!

As a fight choreographer, my first priority is safety. The actor's safety always comes first - I enjoy working with actors to find fighting styles and moves that fit well and are safe with them. My second priority is justification, as stated above - no move should be without reason or intent. As I move forward as a fight choreographer, I hope to have these viewpoints tested and challenged so I can refine my craft.
