I think I need to preface this project with a bit of an explanation. Back in elementary school I spent far too much time making animations on powerpoint, stop motion animation style. Two of the characters I spent a lot of time animating were "The Cool Triangle" and "Perry the Peanut". They are very near and dear to my heart and I wanted to honor them at some point in this class.
I thought a shootout between these two characters would be a fitting way to determine which one I loved more. However, I didn't actually want to decide, so I made them both unarmed. At the end The Cool Triangle realizes he is unarmed and Perry just shrugs at him.
As Perry walks in, his arms swing back and forth and he sways lightly from side to side.
These characters have been refined over many years to be as appealing as possible.
The tumbleweed uses some squash and stretch but not an incredible amount, as tumbleweeds don't really stretch. They more shake.
The entire animation is based on anticipation.
I have learned that my computer really doesn't like maya. Having too many things on screen caused my computer to become a slide show. I found that the tumbleweed caused a lot of the problems so I just left that out until the very last moment. That helped to alleviate the problem some but it was still difficult. I also had a lot of trouble rendering. Besides the overheating, the rendered frames just wouldn't actually save anywhere. I had to change the save location for them to save.
