I stuck fairly true to my storyboard. Angles changed slightly but the biggest change was the removal of the arms. I thought it would look good to have them flailing behind the ball. However, once I added them, I realized it really did not look as good as I thought it would and I decided to remove them.
As the ball bounces, it uses squash and stretch in order to give it more life and to make it feel like it is moving more realistically.
At several points, there is anticipation used. Specifically, after the ball grows and is looking down upon the racket, there is a lot of anticipation because we are not sure what he will do.
I set up each camera specifically trying to keep in mind the rule of thirds.
Everything in the scene moves in an arc. The bouncing ball clearly moves in an arc but also, the swinging rackets move in arcs.
The entire animation requires timing but I think that the slow motion shot shows it best.
I personally think that the ball has a lot of appeal to him.
