JAAEd Research Conference in Waseda, Tokyo 2026
Japanese Association of Art Education (JAAEd) welcomes international presenters at the Research Conference in Waseda, Tokyo.
Oral presentations in English are now accepted.

1. How to present your research in English at the Conference
At the Research Conference of the Japanese Association of Art Education (JAAEd) in Waseda, Tokyo, there are two cases for oral presentations in English:
Case 1: You are the first author (main presenter).
The first author must be a member of JAAEd.
Please refer to “2. Membership procedures.”
After obtaining membership, apply for presentation according to “3. Application process for presenters.”
Case 2: You are a co-presenter, with a JAAEd member as the first author.
Co-presenters other than the first author are not required to be members.
The first author will submit the presentation proposal.
2. Membership procedures
Fill out and submit the membership application form on the JAAEd website:

You need a recommendation from one current member. Please enter the recommender’s name, membership number, and email address in the form.
If you already know a JAAEd member, please ask them to recommend you.
If you do not know a member, please send your CV to
the JAAEd English Presentation Support Team jaaed-english-support@googlegroups.com
and request an introduction.
CV submission deadline for presenters in Tokyo: Friday, December 19, 2025
The team will make every effort to introduce a recommender within three days.There are two categories of membership:
Full members
Student members (includes both undergraduate and graduate students)
Once your membership is approved by the Board, follow the office instructions to pay the annual membership fee:
Full members: 8,000 yen
Student members: 500 yen
Payment can be made online by credit card via the Association website:
Please note: Regardless of when you pay during the year, membership is valid until March 31. For example, if you join in October 2025, your membership is valid until March 31, 2026. Membership does not automatically expire on April 1, but the following year’s fee must be paid by the end of July. If no payment is made for two consecutive years, your membership will be suspended.
3. Application process for presenters
Each first author may submit only one presentation.
After the first author and all co-presenters have completed conference registration and paid the participation fee, the first author should submit the title for oral presentation online. At that time, please enter the registration number displayed when the conference registration was completed.
Once the online title submission has been completed, instructions for submitting your manuscript to the Book of Abstracts will be provided.
Conference participation fees
Full members: 4,500 yen (until March 7, 2026) / 5,000 yen (from March 8, 2026)
Student members: 2,500 yen (until March 7, 2026) / 3,000 yen (from March 8, 2026)
Non-members: 5,500 yen (until March 7, 2026) / 6,000 yen (from March 8, 2026)
Members of the International Society for Education through Art (InSEA) may register at the JAAEd full-member rate. However, to be the first author of a presentation, JAAEd membership is required.
