YSSP: Julius Caesar- Props Charge (August 2024)
The Shrine
This adaptation, Directed by Theo Fantozzi and Grace Randall, produced by Youth Shakespeare Society of Pittsburgh, was set in a high school after an apocalypse. I was given the task to create a shrine inside of the classroom to dedicate to those they have lost in the tragedy. Through this design process, I made sure to talk to each cast member to help decide who their character is honoring- which allowed me to help create coherent stories through each section of the shrine, amplified by who places which items in the shrine (Julius Caesar honoring his past by placing a metal around their football team photograph). I also opened up the option to the cast and crew to add pictures of their personal loved ones they would like to honor. It was important to me to play with textures, light, and visual weight.

The shrine stayed onstage the entire show.
