There has been a product update to the Treasures of Japan tour and the optional tours have changed. This is due to both client feedback and operational challenges. The website has been updated already to reflect these changes.

WHAT HAS BEEN UPDATED?
Kyoto Culture Tour
Has now been replaced by a Kyoto E-Bicycle Tour (there has been a price increase for this tour). There is a trained cycling guide to take them on this, but customers need to be able to peddle and have an okay level of fitness to proceed.
It is on flat terrain and they will be provided with a safety briefing and helmets.
Osaka Food Tour
Has been removed completely
Made in Japan Shopping Ningyocho
Remains the same but has been renamed the Ningyocho walking tour
Tsukiji Fish Market
No changes
Tea Ceremony
Which was in Kyoto is now in Tokyo however this cannot be booked together with either the Tsukiji Fish Market tour and the Ningyocho Walking tour due to locations, travel time and time of day.
MEL CS will be sending out a bulk email to all guests, there are about 50-60 bookings all up. They need to either call or email us to tell us what they would like to do. Please follow the below guideline for potential outcomes:
SCENARIOS:
If a pax booked the Kyoto culture tour
If they do not want to do the e-bike tour, they can get a refund for this
If they do want to do the e-bike tour, they will have to pay the additional amount as it's a higher price (unless they originally included this as their free inspiring sight tour, it can be swapped at no cost)
If they have booked the Osaka food tour
They can get a refund for this (unless they originally included this as their free inspiring sight tour, they will get no refund BUT they can choose a different tour to be included as their inspiring sight)
If they have booked the tea ceremony
If they want to keep it, they can get a refund for the Tsukiji Fish Market tour and the Ningyocho Walking
If they don't want to do it, they can get a refund for the tea ceremony
IMPORTANT NOTES:
As mentioned this tour includes an Inspiring Sight (free optional tour) so please make sure to double check the invoices and advise the guests correctly as to whether any refunds are due or not for cancelling optional tours. They are of course welcome to swap the Inspiring Sight to a different optional tour and we can refund any overpayments.
When MNL CS team gets calls or emails about this, please take action as needed. As per usual, any difficulties or challenges, raise to MEL CS.
HOWEVER, there are two departures that MEL CS (Loren) needs to know about as docs are due soon for them.
The 20th of March departure and
3rd of April
If MNL CS team get any emails please put them in Loren's (MEL CS) name so she can update ops ASAP due to documents needing to go out. Any calls, please ensure to take clear notes and tag her so she can update ops as needed.
