Media Literacy

Media literacy education teaches learners to apply critical thinking to media messages and to use media to develop their own skill which is the key to the 21st century (wiki, n.d.). According to the Centre for Media Literacy, media literacy "provides a framework to access, analys, evaluate, create and participate in all kinds of variety forms. Media builds an understanding of the role of media in society as well as essential skill of inquiry and self-expression necessary for the society (verywellmind, n.d.).

As a teacher it is your own job to make sure that media take place in the classroom only in the appropriate way. Make learners engage with a content using media as I believe that will make the learning process more efficiently and most importantly it will make them to be more enthusiastic in terms of knowing the lesson (verywellmind, n.d.). The influence of media will give learners knowledge and tools to mitigate its impact. You can also create a group on one of the social media plartforms such a WhatsApp and make them share their thoughts regarding school work as a way of making them engage with the digital world through the use of education in the media.
