Mt. Pigingan is one of Benguet’s hidden gems located in Barangay Dalupirip lying almost across the borders of Nueva Vizcaya and Benguet. Its name came from the Ibaloi word “Piging” which means “slanted” in the local language, nonetheless possess the elements of a classic hike in the region.
The 1328 meters above sea level, mount Pigingan is just under the shadow of Mt. Ugo. It does not reach the grandeur of Pulag or Napulauan nor their lofty elevation but given its proximity to Baguio City. It would take a 4-5hrs hike to reach its summit, a prominent rocky peak from which one can view the semi-barren, pine tree-clad mountains below. Mt. Ugo, Binga Dam, Agno river, and, to the south, the lowlands of Pangasinan can also be seen.
Mt Pigingan can also accommodate who to camp overnight and witness the beautiful ascent of the sun above the horizon in the morning. And, in fact is a more serious hike than Ulap .
