Koopman Operator Theory has recently emerged as an important tool to tackle nonlinear problems in fundamental and applied sciences, due to the property to transform a nonlinear finite dimensional system into a linear infinite dimensional one, which is, in general, easier to solve. This has triggered the interested of scholars, not only from the dynamical system community, but also from the theoretical physics and engineering ones, who are increasingly using such mathematical tools in their research. With this workshop, we want to provide an introduction to the topic of Koopman Operator Theory, and we also aim to gather the Japanese community of researchers interested in this theory to foster collaborations with iTHEMS researchers.
The speakers will be Yoshihiko Susuki (Kyoto University), Alexandre Mauroy (University of Namur, Belgium), Yuzuru Kato (Future University Hakodate), and Hiroya Nakao (Institute of Science Tokyo).
Registration for on site attendance is open until February 28th 2026 at 23h59 (JST).
