Titilope Ojo is an astute professional with over 22 years of experience in Organizational Leadership, Agricultural Value Chain Development, International Trade, Evidence-based Policy Advocacy, Project Management, Business Consulting, Training & Capacity Building, Youth Empowerment, and Information Technology. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a certified National Business Development Services Provider (NBDSP), and an Accredited Management Consultant and Trainer by the Nigerian Council for Management Development (NCMD).
Titi has supported implementing Agricultural Value Chain and Rural Development projects from donor organizations such as the UNDP, IFDC, DFID, and USAID. She served as a National Advisor on the 2SCALE project (Toward Sustainable Clusters in Agribusiness through Learning in Entrepreneurship), a five-year Dutch-funded project supporting business ideas from the private sector that addresses commercial and development objectives.
Titi served as the Value Chain coordinator and Standards Expert on the Nigeria Competitiveness Project (NICOP) funded by GIZ, a 4-year program focusing on developing the capacity of agricultural value chain actors and food processors to become more competitive in local and international markets.
Before this, Titi served as the Exporter Voices Lead on the Trade Policy Workstream of the Policy Development Facility Program of UK AID, where she played a prominent role in developing the capacity of SME exporters to participate in non-oil trade and evidence-based advocacy. She also worked actively with trade facilitating institutions of government, influencing trade policies to create a more enabling business environment for exporters to thrive. She did this by commissioning studies and organizing policy roundtables to discuss recommendations. Through her effort, the Network of Practicing Non-Oil Exporters of Nigeria (NPNEN), a membership based organisation, was birthed to champion advocacy and capacity building in the non-oil export space. She currently serves as its pioneer Executive Secretary.
Titi serves as a consultant to several Export development initiatives & projects, including the Export readiness training for Nigerian SMEs conducted by the British Standard Institute (UK) in partnership with NEPC, the design and implementation of ‘Export Readiness Workshops’ for Women under the Export Expansion Facility Project (EEFP) of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), and Export Coach for the Future Females Empowerment Initiatives (UK). She is a faculty member of the Nigerian Export Academy, the digital learning platform of the Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIM). She continues to develop the capacity of export-oriented SMEs to participate successfully in international trade and be a significant contributor to Nigeria’s GDP, and to maximize the opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
In 2014, she was awarded the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship in recognition of her contributions to Leadership and Public Service by the US government. She completed 1 year of professional development as a Fulbright scholar at Cornell University, NY, where she had her Fulbright study in International Agriculture & Rural Development. During this period, she served as a Professional Affiliate with CARANA Corporation, Virginia, USA, an International Trade and Development firm, where she worked on the Shea value chain component of the Nigeria Expanded Trade and Transport (NEXTT) project.
Through learning, certifications, and practice, Titi has acquired expertise in organizational leadership and project management skills over the years. She is a trained Lead Auditor under the International Standards Organization (ISO) in the following Management Systems: ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems (FSM), a set of worldwide proprietary, industrial, and commercial standards.
She has managed diverse teams in achieving set goals and filled leadership positions at the highest levels. She enjoys training and capacity building and has facilitated training sessions and programmes for diverse audiences in Nigeria and the diaspora.
Titi possesses an outstanding entrepreneurial spirit and has founded several initiatives. Her love for building people and businesses birthed ‘The Idea Factory,’ a mentorship program that fosters the co-creation of ideas, and productive learning and enables startups to pitch their business ideas at the concept stage for expert review. She has received several awards and recognitions for her contributions to community development.
