Dr. Abel Owotemu is the Founder of Greenage Development Managers
(Impact Private Equity Fund) and currently serves as the Board Chair of the
Centre for Climate Action Innovation and Engagement (A Sustainability and
Climate focused Think-Tank with orientation on Africa’s Global advancement).
Dr Abel is also a leading Scholar of Development and Social Impact Strategy
with a career that spans over two decades in Commercial, Retail, and
Investment Banking as well as consulting across Sub-Sahara Africa, Middle
East/North Africa (MENA) region and Nigeria’s Financial Services market in
roles spanning Board Advisory, Sustainability, Strategy, Private Equity, Project
Advisory, Corporate Finance, Impact Investing, PPP’s and Leadership. He
started his career handling treasury operations and funds transfer management
with Fidelity Bank Plc with stints in Infrastructure, Commercial, Retail,
Investment Banking, Advisory and Wealth management at leading Financial
Institutions Like Access Bank, FBNQuest, IFC-Worldbank and Afreximbank.
As a consultant with a focus on development, impact finance and research, he
has collaborated on advisory engagements with the World Bank and the
Affordable Housing Institute, Boston USA. Dr. Owotemu's primary interest lies
in providing technical advisory, supporting start-ups, driving trade, investment,
and sustainable housing solutions, especially for student housing with a
particular focus on female students. Having seen the impact of climate change
on access to housing and education for women, he has dedicated his efforts in
creating solutions for these challenges, aiming for long-term economic impact.
His experience extends to working in the housing finance, development and
investment banking sectors, and has also served as a member of the Federal
Government's Presidential Reforms Committee for Housing. Dr. Owotemu
holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree in management and is a Certified
Project Management Professional, Global Investment Analyst and a leading
IFC-EDGE Expert for Impact Finance under the IFC World Bank’s Global
Green Building Transformation Programme.
