We plan to organize junior-senior lunch sessions to facilitate interaction among participants. For this purpose, we identify students (e.g., undergraduate, master, or PhD students) and postdocs as "junior", and those beyond the postdoc stage as "senior". The goal is to connect participants who may not otherwise have an opportunity to engage with one another, offering a chance to learn about each other's research and fostering potential mentorship experiences.
Please sign up using the Google Sheet provided below. You are welcome to select any time slot that fits your schedule and indicate the number of junior researchers you are able to accommodate. While flexible, it is recommended that each senior researcher hosts 4 junior researchers.
Senior researchers are responsible for arranging virtual meeting rooms and sharing the meeting links with their assigned junior researchers, preferably at least 24 hours in advance.
[UPDATE] Please also update our Calendar to reflect your meeting time. In case that the Calendar permission doesn't work out, please contact us (onlineparallels@gmail.com) and we will assist by uploading the meeting for you.
Please select an available slot from the Google Sheet and sign up.
It is recommended to double-check the time zones using tools such as the Time Zone Converter to ensure accuracy.
Please be mindful that some participants may experience unstable internet connections or may not have high-quality access to certain platforms (e.g., Google services). To ensure smooth communication:
Prepare one or two alternative meeting platforms in advance, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Tencent Meeting, or Skype.
In cases of poor connectivity, consider switching to audio-only mode as a fallback.
