What to Bring Back

Shopping during travel is hard. You don't want to fall in the tourist trap, and definitely don't want to carry back anything that can be easily found at home. Here are some Italian made local items worth the effort taking back with you.

Try something new

You're in Italy, the land of fashion. Walking on the street, you can see how the local people dress differently. So, try some local clothing store and feel the vide.

Florence Leather

Florence is famous for its leather works. Instead of expensive brand names, check the local stores, which are often are at same excellent quality but much better price. Don't know which one to trust? Ask your local guides. They are more than happy to give you reference on some honest merchants.

Other than wine, limoncello probably is the most famous alcohol drink in Italy. Great for desserts or cocktail. Don't drink? Aged balsamic vinegar or high quality olive oil are great choices too.

Unfortunately, you can't bring meat past the custom, no matter how delicious that prosciutto is. Better to eat them before you go to airport. Fortunately, there are other unique food and drinks you can take with you. For example, we took back bunch of these 'Espresso to Go' drink with us. Just put a straw into the bite-sized container, and you get an excellent Italian stye espresso.

And artifacts of course! Just make sure they're authentic local made ones.
