Introducing Evening and Weekend Childcare!
Miss Julie & Anders
Hey there, Miss Julie here. What I love the most about providing childcare is seeing all the friendships being made between all of our Little Loves, especially the learning and growing they do together. My son, Anders and I love forming relationships with our Little Loves and thier families. Some of these babes have been with us so long that they feel like a part of our family, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
I like to be silly, sing songs and read books with silly voices and faces. We love playing interactive and funny games together such as The Floor Is Lava, Zombie Monster, and other silly games that we've made our own crazy versions of. Making the kiddos belly laugh and have big smiles is my absolute favorite thing part of my "job".
Introducing Miss Tanya, our Teacher!
Miss Tanya is a veteran childcare provider, from working in traditional corporate daycares to running her own daycare. Miss Tanya holds so many certifications and experience in Early Childhood Education and absolutely loves teaching our Little Loves! Miss Tanya makes every moment a Teachable Moment, by naming colors, shapes, etc, and even knows many words in Spanish and sign language! She loves planning art, sensory, and other engaging activities for all of our Little Loves from Infants up!
It all started out as a joke!
So yea, the whole idea of me starting a childcare in my home was a joke/ threat to my previous boss.
I was 5 months pregnant with my miracle little guy when I finally landed a good job with a super supportive and amazing boss, but not everyone at the company I worked at was supportive of me being a new momma and having such a high demanding career.
I got burnt out pretty darn quickly after having my little guy and going back to work, and super overwhelmed momma me who wanted to be the best mom I could be AND amazing at my job, said that I'm just going to quit and start caring for other little loves in my home.
Daycare options for us weren't at all what I was comfortable with, and all legit daycares were SOOOO EXPENSIVE!!!! It was such a big challenge leaving my little guy with a daycare that did not at all care about my preferences regarding my child, it was a constant struggle to advocate for what my son was ready for and what he wasn't (he was a preemie and had some delays, especially with solid foods).
I was commuting over an hour to work each way, plus another 13 minutes out of the way to drop off and pick up my son from daycare, so most days I was on the road driving for easily 3 hours. I felt like I never got to spend quality time with my son. It was just too hard to balance it all out, so I left and turned my threat into a reality in hopes of helping other mommas in similar situations.
So I get it, Mommas! It's so incredibly hard balancing work life and home life.
That's why our goal is to make childcare as effortless as possible! We provide so many things, you don't need to pack a diaper bag daily! We do inventory every Friday and let you know when your little love is low on diapers, formula, etc.
We take lots of pictures, videos, and we post updates in our Brightwheel app for our families to see what their little love is up to each day while they're here. We have multiple live feed video and audio cameras and we invite our families to watch the cameras and even say hi sometimes!
We're built on transparency and we let our families know anytime something concerning happens. Our families love knowing how honest and open we are with them, and we make our best effort to problem solve together on addressing issues.
We want to be the support and childcare provider that we wished we had. We give advice when asked, we send families home with things to help comfort their babes at home, whether it be a teething toy that my son loved, a vapor bubble bath that helped with a nasty cough, etc.
It Takes A Village Childcare- because we have to support each other, to share our knowledge, frustrations, hilarious moments with each other. Not everyone has a family, some people (like us) choose not to have family, and it's great forming friendships with other mommas and watching our little loves grow together. There's so much hate and negativity in this world, and this is our way of trying to bring some peace, laughter and joy into our special little Village we've created.
So message us to get to know us more- we're an open book!
