- Break-Down are one of the most concerning issue because it can cause accidents in the subway and its caused by the lack of maintenance.
- One of the major issue that the NYC subways system faces is the constant breaking-down. This is one of the most concerning issue because it can cause accidents in the subway due to the malfunction of the trains and railroads. In addition, this problem is mainly caused by the lack of maintenance that the subways is getting from the state. Moreover, another possible reason may be due to the new renovation in the parts that are been used to build the new trains because for some reason, the new trains have been breaking down more than the old trains that are been running since the 1980s.
This photograph shows the deterioration of the subway at 34 St Pen Station, which is the result of the poor maintenance. It contributes to the break downs of subways because is not getting the proper maintenance it requires in order to have the passanger safe.
A photograph of the Railroad. The structure looks very old and rusty. It contributes to the malfunction of the train because the railroads are the support of the train. When it doesnt get proper maintenance, it can break down and easily become derail.

- As we can persuade, the deterioration of the subway is very concerning and it can definitely cause the malfunction of the subway due to the old structures and poor maintenance. The ceiling is a fundamental part because it supports the structure. The poor maintenance of the ceiling can cause the roof to become weak an lose its strength to make its job and as a result, the roof can start to falling down.
- In the other hand, the railroads also contribute to the breaking-down of the subways. This is the part that is mostly used because every train has to pass by the railroads in order for it to arrive at his destination. Its function is essential on the train and without the railroad the train cannot be driven. If the railroad is broken down, the train can’t go through there. As a result, it causes delay on the subways and in the worse scenario, it can cause an accident if the break-down is not caught before the train pass by that railroad. The wheels of the train works in coordination with the railroad, any minor malfunction can contribute to the breaking-down of the subways.
