Brigada Eskwella program – The former undersecretary of the department of education learnt about the program at Sathya Sai School to promote the transformation of parents through children. The parents participated voluntarily with their time and skills in gardening, carpentry and other activities at the school. They were not expected to make any financial or other in-kind contribution. The undersecretary formulated a government initiative called School Brigade (in Tagalog Brigada Eskwella) that involved parents to participate in the school repair during summer holidays-- primarily contributing their time and skills. He reported that the initiative saved close to a $10m in the department’s annual budget for school repairs and also fostered better participation of parents in school activities.
We invite teachers who have participated in the training programs of the Institute of Sathya Sai Education Philippines to fill this alumni information form.
