1. What happens if I choose not to have motor insurance on my vehicle? The law requires every owner of motor vehicle to insure the vehicle against liability in the event of death, bodily injury or damage to property of a third party arising from the use of such vehicle.
2. What are compulsory insurance policies? These are those classes of insurance made compulsory by law, frequently with the objective of providing protection to third parties and the general public. Some of the prominent ones are: Motor Insurance, Building under construction, Public buildings, Employer’s liability, Medical and Professional liability, Group life, etc.
3. Is anyone who drives my car covered? In most cases, yes, as long as they have the permission or reasonable belief from the insured that they can use the vehicle. The insured is the person named on the insurance policy and their spouse if applicable. There are some exclusions, so you would need to look at your particular insurance policy to make sure

Third party liability insurance is a basic compulsory insurance coverage for motor vehicles mandated as per statutory laws in Nigeria. Third Party Liability Motor policy provides cover against death or bodily injury to any third party as well as property damage caused by the insured vehicle. The policy does not cover damage to the insured’s vehicle.

2. How long does it take until I get my insurance check? For vehicle repairs, payment is usually issued within 24 hours, once you have executed our Discharge voucher. For total loss situations and more complex accidents, like those where injuries are involved, the amount of time until you receive your check varies
3. What is a total loss? If the cost to repair your vehicle approaches or exceeds the value of your vehicle, it may be deemed nonrepairable, or a total loss. Your claims adjuster will complete a thorough inspection of your vehicle to determine its fair market value, taking into consideration the mileage, options, overall condition, any prior damage and current comparable used car market prices. Upon receipt of your title paperwork, payment (minus your deductible) will be made to you and your lien holder (if applicable), based on this amount.

If you have comprehensive cover we will arrange for your vehicle to be repaired by one of our approved repairers or by your chosen repairer, or inspected if it is likely to be a total loss. We will handle the other driver's claim as quickly as we can. If you receive any correspondence from the other driver or their insurers please send it to us and we'll reply on your behalf.
