We have 2 types of Activation Options which are :
Credit Based Plan: Applicable to new customers who have been identified to pose low risk of credit default hence can be offered unsecured credit
Deposit Based Plan: Applicable to new customers who have been identified to pose high risk of credit default hence can only be offered secured credit
Following the revamp of the Consumer Postpaid Activation process, we are pleased to inform you that, the Customer Agreement Form has been replaced with Consumer Postpaid Activation form.
The new activation form is a fusion of the customer agreement and credit check forms. This means that, customers only need to complete one form instead of two – another drive towards a pleasant customer experience.
Please be informed that Consumer Postpaid Migration/Activation requirements have been modified to align with the use of National Identification Number (NIN) as a means of identification.
Below are the necessary requirements needed from MyCustomer® for Prepaid-to-Postpaid migration and postpaid activation.
Please Note:
Port-in Prepaid customers to MTN, would be required to provide the same requirements as stated under the Prepaid-to-Postpaid migration.
Port-in Postpaid customers to MTN, would be required to provide the same requirements as stated under the Prepaid-to-Postpaid migration, in addition to 3-6 months invoices from their previous network.
Complete port–in and SIM re-registration to be executed for Port-In Customers.
NIN slip is required for Port-In Customers.
6-Months Bank Statement and Utility Bill are no longer required for postpaid activation.

POSTPAID TERMINOLOGIES
Credit Limit
This refers to the maximum amount of credit MTN extends to a customer through which payments can be made for products and services utilized during the billing cycle. Upon exhaustion, deductions are made from the customer’s main account.
Wallet ID 80
This is a dedicated account that indicates what is left of the credit limit during the billing cycle. Value depreciates as customer makes payments for products and services utilized.
Personal Wallet
The personal wallet refers to the Main Account of the customer.
This can be accessed by dialing *556# or *558#
Recharge-A-Contract
This simply refers to recharging a post-paid line. Recharge of physical vouchers are done by dialing *555*PIN# or *557*PIN#
