Please note the following updates to MTN Share

·  Change of share n sell name to ‘MTN Share’

·  Daily transfer limit  N50,000  (Max amount of N5000 per transaction to a limit of N50,000 daily)

·  Removal of transaction fee: Transfer is FREE

·  *321#, *600# or *777# on the USSD menu  is now available

How to Share airtime

SMS: Share airtime with another MTN number at any time by sending an SMS with Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount and PIN to 777. For example, you can send an SMS with ‘Transfer 08031234567 1500 1234’ to 777.

You will receive an SMS asking you to confirm that you want to make the transfer by sending an SMS with ‘YES’ to 777.

USSD: Share airtime with another MTN number by dialing *321#, *600# or *777#, then follow the prompts OR Dial *600*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN# e.g. *600*08031234567*1500*1234#  or *777*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN# e.g. *777*08031234567*1500*1234#

MyMTN App: Launch My MTN App, Click on ‘Recharge’, then click on ‘Share Airtime’  and follow the prompts

SMS: Share airtime with another MTN number at any time by sending an SMS with Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount and PIN to 321. For example, you can send an SMS with ‘Transfer 08031234567 1500 1234’ to 321.

Please note these features

1.  MTN Share requires a PIN

2.  Change the default PIN (as received) by sending a text message with default PIN New PIN New PIN to 777.

3.  You can change the default PIN by using USSD like this: Dial *600*default PIN*New PIN*New PIN# Send/Ok

 You can also change the default PIN by using USSD like this: Dial *321*default PIN*New PIN*New PIN# Send/Ok

4.  Customers can transfer an amount of NGN 50.00 to a maximum of NGN5, 000.00 on per transaction.

Following steps should be done/carried out when customers call in for MTN Share PIN activation:

                   1.Agent should confirm the query and affected number.

                   2. Carry out a security validation and reset customer’s pin (For CLM support, reset PIN on CLM should be done via Reset PIN (self-service). It replaces the MTN Share menu) Reset PIN- 3 questions: D.O.B; Mother’s maiden name & State of Origin.

                   3.Advise customer to change the PIN by dialing *321#, *777# or *600#, and select “CHANGE PIN” to change       pin to preferred one .

                  4.Educate on the minimum and maximum limit that can be transferred daily and per transaction.

                  5.Educate Customer on how to Share airtime with loved ones via any of the preferred channels.(USSD, SMS, myMTN app)

In conclusion, agents are to ask security questions(provided on reset PIN on CLM) , perform a reset, and educate on how to change the pin to a preferred pin, rather than provide the PIN activation code ONLY.
