Solidarity with Beirut

Update on the use of collected funds

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The conference is dedicated to the city of Beirut (Capital of Lebanon) and its inhabitants who have suffered greatly with the explosion that occurred on August 4, 2020. The explosion, coupled to a severe economic crisis along with the Covid-19 pandemic has left many families in extremely vulnerable situations.  We would like to play a small part in helping heal the wounds of this enormous tragedy.
The payment of the conference registration fee is on a voluntary basis (i.e.,  you pay only if you can). The suggested registration fee is  60 US $ but you can pay a higher fee to support the social action of the conference. Abstracts can be submitted to the conference independently from the payment of the fee.
We will use the collected funds to buy as many as possible Science/Physics books from the public schools curricula for secondary school children for the academic year 2021-22. In order to pay the registration fee or make a donation, please visit the Fee payment page
