Reclaim Process
CONTACT US- If you believe we have your pup please call immediately. Make sure you know their intake ID and their name on intake.
CONFIRM- After confirming details you can come and check to see if this is your pup. Please note, all dogs are scanned for a microchip and posted on 10 different online websites (along with many Facebook groups/pages).
LEGAL DOCUMENTS- To reclaim your pup you need a valid drivers license, vet records, rabies vaccination record, and photos. You need all of these items to reclaim your dog. Please understand we are thorough and do our best to make sure the dog goes back home with the legal owner.
4A. RECLAIM CONTRACT- If you come with all legal documents, you are then required to review and sign a reclaim contract. In the reclaim contract it states the every day fee for dogs, depending on how long we hold your dog as a stray will depend on the reclaim fee. If your pup is not spayed/neutered and/or microchipped, you may schedule a vet appointment (and have your vet confirm that with us) to get the dog spayed/neutered and the reclaim fee will be waived.
4B. SURRENDER CONTRACT- If you feel that at this point you would like to surrender your dog to us you are able to do that. You will be instructed to fill out a surrender application which can be found under "surrender".
