Isla has tested positive for heartworms, donate to help her recover!
Isla's Journey Rescue was inspired by Isla herself- a stray dog who eluded help for weeks despite tireless efforts to bring her to safety. Her rescue was not easy; it took relentless determination, patience, and compassion. When Isla was finally captured, she became the heart and soul of the mission. Her journey from fear and survival to safety and love is a powerful symbol of what this rescue stands for. Every dog deserves the same second chance Isla recieved- because behind every stray is a story worth saving.
Cortney (the founder and Isla's mom) is very passionate about saving dogs. Originally she joined Jeff's Way Home Lost Dog Search & Rescue but realized that the strays needed help too. She decided not only to continue to help the lost dogs but she can now rescue the strays to help them find a FUREVER home!!!
Cortney’s involvement with Jeff's Way Home Lost Dog Search & Rescue began as a mission to reunite lost pets with their families, but it quickly grew into something more. Her dedication to finding missing dogs led her to encounter numerous stray animals in desperate need of help. What started as rescue work soon evolved into a deeper calling, inspiring her to create Isla’s Journey—a sanctuary and advocacy initiative devoted to saving, rehabilitating, and rehoming strays, giving them a second chance at life.
We work to trap strays and try to reunite them with their owners, they have a 5 day hold in a foster home. If they aren’t reclaimed they will then have a health exam, proper vaccines, a microchip, and will be spayed/neutered if they weren’t upon intake. They will then live in a foster home until adopted into a furever home!
We strive to educate the community on responsible pet ownership and breed awareness. Lost dog prevention is just another topic we are passionate about. We want all dogs to be in a safe and loving home.
