A basic and very essential part of karate training is that a Karateka must never attack first, mentally or physically. Safe practice, mutual respect and correct etiquette are essential in the Dojo.
To understand this years of hard and correct training are needed. As the Karateka matures with grade, so also will their good manners, respect and etiquette, outwardly and even more important, inwardly.

Qualities of a Great Student
A great student has the correct approach to their training and their club. This is demonstrated by:
showing respect to other karateka, regardless of grade.
being disciplined and attentive during training.
training regularly and enthusiastically supporting Ishinryu events.
setting short, medium and long term goals to achieve their fullest potential.
To become effective karateka, students must show dedication, determination, desire and discipline.
