Request Sand

Donated sand is only available to members of the ISCS as a membership benefit.

ISCS members may request sand when donated sand lots are available.

What Are Donated Sand Lots?

Sand collections donated to the ISCS are divided into lots and are available to members. If we subdivide a larger sample, we repackage at approximately 30ml. Otherwise, the sample is the collector's original volume and usually ranges from 15 to 30 ml..  Label information is what was on the original container. We do not sift, clean or sort the sand or verify the accuracy of the labels or locations. We are distributing the collections of others.

Procedure to Get Donated Sand (Rules)

When donated lots are available, ISCS members will be notified by a member email and via a general notice on the ISCS Facebook page. Lots will be available for selection for a set time period. Browse the images on the Lots Available page. Indicate your selection(s) on the "Online Selection Form". Select a first, second, and third choice by lot number. Or you may select "Any" as one of your choices. "Any" means we will select an available lot for you.

The Selection form must be submitted by the deadline listed on the Lots Available page.

The list of members selecting lots will be ordered by a random number generator to determine the order of selection. When your name is chosen, you will be given your first choice if it is available. If it is not available, then on to your second or third choice. If you chose "Any" for one of your choices, you will receive a lot of our choice. You may not receive a lot if your choices are not available when your name is chosen or if we run out of lots before we get to your name.

Winners will be notified within two days of the closing of the lots. You must pay for your lot through PayPal and your box will be shipped within the USA when we have notice of payment. The cost of shipping and handling is $12.00. Payment instructions for using Paypal will be provided with your winning notification.

Special Notes: 

1.  At this time, lots of sand are only available for shipping within the United States.   

2. Sand is only available to ISCS members. Participation on the ISCS Facebook page is not membership in ISCS. To become a member, click here. 

3.  All payments for shipping and handling must be through Paypal. (NO EXCEPTIONS.)
