FESTIVAL OF ISABELA

Honoring the bountiful harvest of the province and its emerging agro-industrial prowess, Isabela celebrates the Bambanti (Scarecrow) Festival. The festivity showcases the scarecrow dancing spectacles and agricultural booths. The municipalities and cities exhibit their respective culture, beliefs, tradition and origins. This culture-rich celebration vies Isabela as the socio-cultural hub of the north.
TUMAUINI
MANGI FESTIVAL
(February 22-24)
Patronal town fiesta in honor to St. Mathias and the promotion of Tumauini as source of corn and its by-products. Mangi is the Ybanag term for corn and is celebrated with street dancing along the national hi-way. Tumauini is also the home of St. Mathias Church, a Spanish brick colonial church (1753) with the only cylindrical belfry in the country and is considered a national cultural treasure.
PALANAN
SABUTAN FESTIVAL
(March 17-19)
Marks the establishment of the civil government of Palanan, the commemoration of the capture of the First President of the Republic, Emilio Aguinaldo and the promotion of the Sabutan products like mats, fans, bags and hut are made of grass grown in the coastal areas of Palanan. A trade fair, streetdancing and evening programs are the highlights of the celebration.

BACAO FESTIVAL

A thanksgiving celebration in honor of St. Joseph, the patron saint of workers, in Echague where corn of Bacao in Yogad term is the major crop. Streetdancing and showdown highlights the use of corn in costumes and props during the celebration of Bacao Festival.

ANGADANAN
GAKIT FESTIVAL

The town celebrates the use of "Gakit", Gaddang word for raft, by the tribes of Angadanan as thier mode of tranport; Gakit is used to transport passengers and goods from one town to another through the mighty Cagayan River.

Pancit Cabagan is a flavorful and hearty noodle dish that has become a beloved staple in Filipino cuisine. Originating in the town of Cabagan in the province of Isabela, it is named after the place where it was first created. The dish is characterized by its unique combination of ingredients, such as thick rice noodles, pork, shrimp, vegetables, and a savory sauce.
The ingredients are cooked together in a wok, giving the noodles a unique texture and flavor. Pancit Cabagan is considered a comfort food in the Philippines and is often served during special occasions and family gatherings. It is a simple yet delicious dish that will surely please the whole family.
This Ilokano dish has a soup base made of bagoong isda (fermented fish paste) mixed with local vegetables and some grilled or fried fish. It is also similar to Bulanglang and Laswa; the only difference is the addition of fish and fermented fish paste
Although it originated in Tuguegarao, Pancit Batil Patong is also popular in Isabela. This sauteed noodle dish is made from Miki noodles, bean sprouts, cabbage, minced carabeef, crushed Chicharon (pork cracklings), and fried eggs.
Whole glutinous rice that’s a bit sweet and wrapped in small cylinders made of banana leaves are cooked by steaming. They’re tied in batches, ten per batch, and it resembles a magazine of bullets when tied.
