Internet speed is often defined in Mbps, which stands for megabits per second. Knowing your mbps, your file upload and download speeds, can help you determine whether your home internet is fast enough to do everyday things like stream movies or download large files.

Is this internet reliable? Do any of you ever have outages? Would I have to ever mess with the gateway router or is it always on? Would I be able to stream netflix without any problems? I currently have Comcast internet that is fast and very reliable but it costs too much. I'm not sure how fast the 18 mbps is.

Is 6 Mbps Download Good

I have not been able to conclusivly verify this, as I just do not have the connection speed tools to do so, BUT, and this is entirly anicdotal, when I am downloading a large file, while the line speed stayes a constant 6 mega bits per second, my throughput seems to rise up to around 12-14 mbps. This only occours with continuos streams, not loading web pages, etc.

For example, the advertised internet from your internet service provider is 50 mbps, but after running an Internet test, I found out that my registered download speed doesn't match speed test. If you've encountered the same problem, don't worry. It's not because your internet is slow, but because the server from which you are pulling down the content is congested or slow.

In principle, 4k at 100 mbps should be better for complex motion, such as sports events, a busy street, a choppy sea, or tree foliage when blowing in the wind or passed by along the road. It would also give more "depth" for color grading.

In practice, 60mbps can achieve decent 4k video of most subjects, and any deficiencies with complex motion will not be noted by average viewers, or not noticed by anyone, unless they look for background artifacts and not mainly at the principal subject.

When shooting at 1080p resolution, the widespread base bitrate for consumer video is around 17mbps for 30p or 60i. YouTubes stream rate for HD is lower than that. People who aim to do advanced edits or grading will want a higher bitrate, such as the 100mbps setting for HD offered on the Lumix GH series. However, the lower bitrates are quite compatible with ordinary editing, and one avoids rapid consumption of memory space.

Over the past year, my cable download speed had been around 90mbps, probably due to deteriorating coax cabling in my home. That was one of the things that made a wireless Internet solution appealing to me. Note that other folks are able to get faster Internet speeds with cable.

Atlanta, for example, has minimum download speeds of 5 mbps and upload speeds of 1 mbps. Essentially this allows Atlanta to do more with less bandwidth. The airport is cutting a corner, though not a big one.

2-4 mbps: Enough for casual Web surfing, including checking email. Can be enough to stream a standard-definition video, but airports with speeds this slow usually don't recommend passengers stream video or download content.

4-6 mbps: Will provide a good Web surfing experience. Often fast enough to stream a 720p high-definition video, and it's possible to download some videos within about 20 minutes at this speed. But 4 mbps can still be sluggish.

20+ mbps: Appropriate for what Patterson calls the "pro-sumer," people who want to run a lot of applications at once, usually for business reasons. Users at these speeds can "blitz the network," Patterson said.

I have a Wifi 6 netgear WAX610 that is giving a 1200mbps WiFi connection. The business streaming app will only render an image if set at 40mbps? Is there a way of optimising this to use 76 or 100 mbps?

No, When i open business streaming app it shows that the wifi signal at 1200mbps, but if i set the business streaming app any higher than 40bps the stream fails and I just get a spinning icon. I tried at 70 and get the spinning icon, but then setting to 40 will bring up the image and streaming works.

I am currently runnning ADSL 300 mbps internet bandwidth but I have doubt that it will be slow to run if we are considering to host our internal application from external users. The price for 300mbps adsl and 5mbps leased line in our place is almost the same which makes me think if it's a good move to upgrade in a lease line with 5mpbs speed. e24fc04721
