In Collaboration with Irvington Girls-in-Stem
A Fremont-based initiative providing students hands-on experience in space technology by building and launching a satellite, fostering STEM skills through real-world applications.
WiSE is a 20+ member, women-led satellite engineering team partnered with 3+ university programs—mentored by Stanford SSI and Cal Poly Pomona Bronco Space, with vibration testing at Cal Poly SLO. We launched our 1U CubeSat, Pleiades Orpheus, in November and maintained contact for 5 days post-deploy, placing us among the top 30% of U.S. CubeSat missions. We’ve presented at the CubeSat Developers Workshop, grown an accessible newsletter to 400+ subscribers, and we’re now building a BalloonSat to study atmospheric ozone.
