Thomas Braun is a Computer Science major at Amherst College from Chicago, IL. He was raised in a bilingual household and is fluent in French and English. On campus, Thomas is the Treasurer for the Men’s Club Soccer Team and a member of the ACEMS squad. Thomas is interested in studying international conflict and the impact of the advancement of technology on conflict.
Carl Cate is a Political Science and Economics double major, he's also completing the 5-College International Relations Certificate. Carl is currently learning Chinese, and is focusing on IR and Chinese politics. Post-Amherst he plans to attend law school and eventually get into practicing international law.
Victoria Gallastegui is a political science and biology double major and is fluent in Spanish as a second language. On-campus, she is a part of Choral Society and MassMammals Watch. Post-Amherst she intends to attend law school and focus on international environmental politics.
Ephrata Getachew is a prospective Mathematics and Statistics double major. She is from Ethiopia and speaks English, Amharic, and Ge’ez. She is involved in the Quantitative Trading Club, Women’s Club Soccer, and Women in Computer Science on campus. Outside the classroom, she enjoys going for walks and watching soccer games. Cecilia Granda-Scott is a Political Science major pursuing the 5-College International Relations Certificate. She is a Cuban-American from Miami, FL, fluent in English and Spanish. On campus, she is the Captain of the Debate team and a member of the Law Review and club Waterpolo team. Post-Amherst, she plans to attend law school and wants to work in international business law. She is most interested in looking at international relations, specifically conflict, through a gendered lens.
Conner Glynn is a prospective political science and Spanish major from Danville, California. He is interested in studying foreign policy, especially in the Americas. After Amherst, Conner hopes to attend law school. Outside the classroom, Conner enjoys hiking and baking.
Rhine Hazra is an Economics and Statistics major pursuing the Five College Sustainability Studies certificate. On campus, she is on the Food Systems Committee, in the Economics Anti-Racist Advisory Group, and is a Dining Data fellow for the Office of Sustainability. After Amherst, Rhine hopes to work with sustainability assessment in the agri-food industry.
Ian is a political science and computer science double major from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He has lived in seven different countries, mainly in Latin America, and is fluent in Spanish and English. On campus he's president of the Model United Nations Club and part of the Amherst Christian Fellowship. After college he's looking to get a Master's in International Relations in order to continue learning about the world.
Spencer Michaels is a Russian and LJST major at Amherst College, and a prospective 5-College International Relations Certificate student. He is originally from California, but grew up in Moscow and London in a multi-cultural home. He is interested in international governmental relations, Russian literary classics, and jurisprudence. After Amherst, he hopes to attend graduate school.
Bishal is a prospective Economics and Mathematics major. He is from Nepal. He likes to go on hikes and adventures. He is actively involved in on-campus sporting activities like Badminton and Cricket.
Heloise Schep is a prospective political science and law, jurisprudence, and social thought major from the Netherlands. She is interested in computer science and international relations, and hopes to attend law school after Amherst to further explore international cybersecurity policies. In addition, she enjoys working with Amherst's Center for Teaching and Learning, and singing in Choral Society.
Arshdeep Singh is a political science and prospective psychology major from San Diego. On campus, he is a member of the Debate team and Asian Students Association. After Amherst, Arshdeep hopes to attend law school and specialize in immigration and criminal law. In his free time, he likes to cook and workout.
Jessica Valbrum is a Political Science and French double major. She is interested in the relationship between climate change and international conflict and climate change’s potential effect on alliances between countries. Outside of International Relations, Jessica is a member of the Black Student Union and African Caribbean Student Union. She is also learning French and hopes to attend Law School after graduation.
Regan Williams is a prospective double major in economics and computer science. At Amherst, she is a junior captain for the club soccer team and likes skating and baking in her free time. She's passionate about environmental causes and aspires to work on climate initiatives in the future.
