Do to recent policy changes at some US government institutions and other travel issues, a number of participants are not able to travel and attend in-person. To accommodate these folks we will be hosting the sessions in a zoom meeting room. We have also created a number of additional zoom meetings for use during our unconference sessions. The password for all of the zoom meetings is the primary coolant of PDRs arising from a doublet. The explicite passwrod was also provided in the final logistics email.

To best facilitate the remote participants and ensure smooth transition between speakers, we ask that local presenters use our provided laptop. To enable this please upload your presentation to the appropriate session folder your session in the Google Drive link proivded in the final logistical email to all participants. After the conference we also hope to archive and make available the presentations for the public, along with our unconference proceedings.
Note: Our laptop is not able to support Keynote. Please provide a PowerPoint, PDF, or cloud-based (i.e. Google Drive) presentation.
Keynote talks by invited speakers will be 25 min long + 5 min for questions, while contributed talks will be 15 minutes + 5 minutes. We hope to archive the presentations on OpenRiver, Winona State University’s digital repository.
Approximately a quarter of the workshop will be reserved for discussion time. These will be organized using an “unconference” format where participants will be able to suggest discussion topics at the time of discussion. These could span from discussion of specific line diagnostics to tutorials on of different modeling or analysis tools.
While a conference proceeding can be a nice record of a meeting, having to write individual conference proceeds can be a burden for participants. Alternatively, we plan to jointly write an “unconference” proceeding. On the final day of the workshop we will schedule time to break into groups based on session and discussion topics to jointly write a short summary of what was presented and discussed at the workshop. Afterwards the organizing committee will edit the document, archive it on OpenRiver, and submit it to the arxiv.
The Unconference Proceeding from the FSL2015 meeting held at the MPIA in Heidelberg, Germany is available here.
On Thursday evening a conference dinner will be planned. In the afternoon on Thursday, before the conference dinner, there will be a couple of hours free for participants to experience Winona. Immediately prior to the conference dinner we will take a boat trip aboard the Cal Fremling on the Mississippi River.
Between 2 pm and 4 pm on Thursday folks will be free. We have arranged a couple of options for activities for folks to participate in (weather dependent):
