I'm glad you've landed here and I hope my story will give you the courage to stay with your own wellness journey. I would be happy to talk with you about what I've learned and whether my services would be a good fit for your goals.
I am the first National Medical Board Certified Health and Wellness coach in Georgetown, Texas. I am also a certified iRest (Integrative Restoration Therapy) teacher and a certified Chronic Pain Management Coach (CPMC).
In addition to my own experiences with pain and emotional wellness coaching, I have found Integrative Restoration Therapy (iRest) to offer a transformative set of practical tools for me. My learning has transformed my experience of chronic pain and anxiety, allowing me to live a full and vibrant life. In 2011, I began to teach these practices to others . I have since become a National Medical Board Certified Health Coach (NBC HWC), a Chronic Pain Management Coach (CPMC), and a certified iRest educator. I hope that the practices I've learned will help you to discover how to rekindle your zest for life even in the midst of intense challenges with pain, illness, and/or emotional difficulties.
Since 2011, I have taught numerous classes to people in colleges, assisted living facilities and corporate health & wellness programs. I also offer pain management and emotional wellness coaching to a small number of clients.
I am a happy member of a family with two wonderful kids and my husband who is also my best friend. I work as a health and wellness coach, with a special calling to support people with chronic and complicated pain and emotional wellness issues.
Let me tell you a little bit about iRest, since it is less well known than wellness coaching. iRest Yoga Nidra is based on ancient yogic teachings, but made accessible for modern day life. It is designed to bring the healing benefits of yogic and meditative practices to a wide variety of people. iRest can be practiced by anyone, regardless of whether you are a lifelong meditator or if you have never tried meditation before.
By practicing iRest regularly - a little and often - you can tap into the parts of your brain that allow for greater insight and quiet the parts of the brain that are responsible for negative thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Using iRest, people learn to welcome life as it is happening and to respond - not react - to challenging situations.
iRest can work to alleviate stress, help us sleep better, and heal unresolved issues and traumas. It can also allow us recognize an underlying peace of mind that is always present within us - no matter what circumstances we are facing in life. People practicing iRest experience:
Decreased stress, anxiety, fear and depression
Improved sleep and decreased insomnia
An ability to better manage chronic and acute pain
Healthier interpersonal relations
Heightened energy levels
Improved sense of control
More confidence and joy in their lives
A greater sense of peace and well-being
iRest is practiced and taught by thousands of people worldwide in a number of different organizations that support well-being. We offer programs in yoga studios, community centers, clinics, schools, hospices, correctional facilities, and U.S. military hospitals. In June of 2010, iRest was endorsed by the US Army Surgeon General and Defense Centers of Excellence as a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). The pages of this website will provide you with information about iRest, my teaching background and how you can sign up for classes.
