International Conference on Sustainable and Democratic Governance (ICOSDEG)
Intersecting Law, Society and Digital Ecosystems
The International Conference on Sustainable and Democratic Governance (ICOSDEG), titled Intersecting Law, Society and Digital Ecosystems, provides a global platform for critical reflection and interdisciplinary dialogue on the transformations shaping governance in the digital age. As digital technologies increasingly influence legal systems, democratic processes, social relations, and environmental policies, the need for inclusive, ethical, and sustainable governance frameworks has become more urgent than ever.
ICOSDEG brings together scholars, policymakers, legal experts, technologists, and civil society actors to explore how law, society, and digital ecosystems intersect in shaping resilient democracies and sustainable futures. The conference encourages innovative, cross-disciplinary perspectives that address both the opportunities and the challenges posed by rapid digitalization.
The conference focuses on five interconnected themes: Digital Governance and Democratic Resilience, examining how digital tools can strengthen or undermine democratic institutions; Legal Frontiers in the Digital Ecosystem, addressing regulatory and normative challenges in an evolving digital landscape; Social Equity and the Digital Divide, highlighting issues of access, inclusion, and justice; Sustainable Technology and Environmental Governance, exploring the role of digital solutions in advancing environmental sustainability; and Cyber Ethics and Social Resilience, emphasizing ethical responsibility, trust, and societal well-being in cyberspace.
Selected and accepted papers, alongside other publication opportunities, will be published in the Journal of Liberty and International Affairs—a Scopus-indexed journal ensuring global visibility—as well as in the Journal of Legal and Political Education. Both journals are published by the Institute for Research and European Studies – Bitola.
