First Steps
After setting up your account and familiarizing yourself with the interface, it's time to get started with your first lesson!
Set Up Your Classes: In the Classroom section, create and organize your classes. You can add students manually or import them from a roster file provided by your school. Once students are added, you can assign them to different groups based on their needs.
Assign Diagnostic Assessments: To understand where your students stand, assign them a diagnostic test. I-Ready’s diagnostic assessments evaluate student skills and place them at the appropriate level for instruction. This helps ensure that students begin their learning at the right level, not too easy or too difficult.
Assign Lessons: Once the diagnostic assessments are complete, you can start assigning lessons tailored to each student’s ability level. I-Ready provides a variety of lessons for reading and math, and you can assign them through the Classwork section. Be sure to check progress regularly and provide support where needed.
Track Student Progress: Use the Reports section to monitor your students’ progress. You’ll be able to see which students are excelling and which may need additional practice or intervention. You can also generate detailed reports that show individual student growth over time.
Engage Your Students: Encourage your students to log in and start working on their lessons. As they complete tasks, they’ll receive immediate feedback, helping them stay engaged and motivated to improve.
By following these initial steps, you'll be well on your way to effectively using I-Ready in your classroom, providing personalized learning experiences for your students.
