How Does Casting Work?
Students do not have to audition to be a part of the musical. Auditions are for students who would like to be considered for a speaking role. (AN AUDITION DOES NOT GUARANTEE A SPEAKING ROLE) Non-audition students will automatically be placed in the ensemble.
The students who choose to audition will be judged by a panel of professionals who specialize in vocals, drama, dance, and theater.
Each judge will score a student based off of 3 categories: Vocals, Acting, Presentation.
The cast is assembled based on these scores and who the judges feel, in collaboration with one another, best suite each role.
We encourage all students to not concentrate on what role they receive but understand that this is a group/team collaboration. All roles are important. All students will have a part to play. And all roles are needed for the success of any production.
The Director and IPSF reserve the right to change/remove/add casting based on the lack of commitment by a student due to unexcused absences or behavior concerns.
We also reserve the right to ask a student to understudy or double cast a role based on the students dedication and commitment to the program as they show desire, growth, maturity and responsibility.
Refund requests will be denied once registration has closed, per IPSF ACE policy.
