This Building Has Served Generations. Now It Needs Us.

For more than five decades, the Iowa Park Optimist Club facility has given children and families a place to play, learn, compete, volunteer, celebrate, and create memories together. Generations have walked through these doors, gathered in the stands, coached after long workdays, and helped make this building part of Iowa Park’s story.

Today, years of heavy use and aging infrastructure have created repair, safety, accessibility, and modernization needs that temporary fixes can no longer carry. The Foundation for the Future Campaign was created to restore and protect this community space so it can continue welcoming children, families, volunteers, and neighbors for generations to come.

A Clear Plan for the Work Ahead

IPOC has begun documenting the restoration by room, project, materials, labor requirements, and priority level. The Facility Restoration Priority & Cost Binder divides the work into four levels so immediate safety concerns can be addressed before cosmetic improvements and long-term upgrades.

Critical needs involving:

Youth safety
Building security
Accessibility
Sanitation
Water damage
Structural concerns
Major liability risks

Priority 2 — Restore Function

Repairs affecting:

Daily operations
Event functionality

Priority 3 — Improve the Experience

Questions Before You Donate? Here are Some FAQS.

The Building Is Aging. Its Purpose Is Not.

Practices are still held here. Children still celebrate their first baskets and victories here. Families still fill the stands, volunteers still stay late, and community events still bring people through these doors.

This is not an abandoned building waiting to be rescued. It is an active youth and community facility working under growing strain. Investing in it now protects a place that Iowa Park is still using, still relying upon, and still filling with new memories.

This campaign is about more than repairing a building. It is about protecting a place that has served generations of children, families, coaches, volunteers, and neighbors—and making sure it remains here for those who have not walked through its doors yet.

Help Carry This Place Forward

Every contribution helps protect the building, strengthen the programs inside it, and preserve a place where young people can play, learn, grow, and know their community believes in them.
