Medcytix: Medical Terms (“Medcytix,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a bilingual medical terminology learning app designed to help students and health professionals learn medical terms through definitions, word parts, pronunciation, flashcards, quizzes, favorites, and structured lessons.
This Privacy Policy explains how Medcytix handles information when you use the iOS version of the App distributed through the Apple App Store or TestFlight.
Medcytix is designed to be simple, educational, and privacy-respecting.
At this time, Medcytix does not require users to create an account, register, or sign in. We do not operate our own user account system, and we do not collect, store, sell, or transmit users’ personal learning data to our own servers.
Most learning activity inside the App, such as saved terms, lesson progress, selected settings, favorites, flashcard activity, and quiz progress, is stored locally on the user’s device.
Medcytix does not intentionally collect:

Phone number
Physical address
Precise location
Contacts
Photos or videos
Camera data
Microphone recordings
Medical records
Financial or payment information
Government identification information
User-generated health or clinical data
Medcytix is an educational medical terminology app. It is not designed to collect, store, or process personal medical information.
To make the learning experience useful, Medcytix may store certain information locally on your device, including:
Favorite or saved terms
Lesson progress
Quiz progress and selected answers
Flashcard progress
App language preference
Explanation language preference
Theme preference, such as light mode or dark mode
Notification preferences, if enabled
Recent learning activity
Premium access status, if premium features are available
This information is stored on your device to help the App remember your progress and preferences. We do not receive this information on our own servers.
You can remove locally stored information by clearing App data where available, using any in-app reset option if provided, or uninstalling the App.
Medcytix may allow users to turn on study reminders or daily learning notifications.
If notifications are enabled, the App may use the iOS notification system to remind users to review medical terms, flashcards, or quizzes. These reminders are intended to support learning and study consistency.
Users can turn notifications off at any time through the App settings or iOS notification settings.
Medcytix does not use notifications to collect sensitive personal information.
Medcytix may include a speaker icon that allows users to hear the pronunciation of English medical terms.
Pronunciation may be handled by the device’s built-in text-to-speech system or related Apple system services. Medcytix does not record the user’s voice and does not require microphone access for pronunciation.
Medcytix does not upload users’ learning activity to our own servers for pronunciation or audio playback.
Medcytix may include an “Invite a friend” or sharing feature.
When users choose to share the App, iOS may open third-party apps or services such as Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, Telegram, or other sharing tools installed on the device. Medcytix does not control how those third-party apps process data.
Any information users choose to share through another app is handled according to that app’s own privacy policy.
Medcytix may include a “Rate the App” button that opens the App Store page for Medcytix, if available.
When users open the App Store, their interaction with Apple and the App Store is handled by Apple according to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices. Medcytix does not control App Store reviews, ratings, Apple Account data, or Apple’s processing of App Store activity.
Medcytix may include links to useful external educational resources for medical students and health professionals.
If users tap an external link, it may open a website, browser, or third-party app. These external websites and services are not operated by Medcytix. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or policies of external websites or third-party services.
Users are encouraged to review the privacy policy of any external website or service they visit.
At this time, Medcytix does not intentionally use advertising SDKs and does not sell personal data.
If analytics, crash reporting, advertising, cloud sync, sign-in, or other third-party services are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what data may be collected, why it is collected, how it is used, and which third-party services are involved.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy after App updates.
Medcytix may be offered with free access to many learning features, including medical terms, flashcards, quizzes, and lessons.
If paid features, premium access, subscriptions, or in-app purchases are offered on iOS, payments will be processed securely by Apple through the App Store using Apple In-App Purchase.
We do not receive or store users’ payment card details, bank information, billing credentials, Apple ID password, or other payment credentials.
Apple may provide the App with purchase status information, transaction information, or purchase confirmation data so that premium access can be unlocked, restored, or verified on the user’s device.
If premium access is available, the App may store premium access status locally on the device to allow access to unlocked content.
Payment processing, purchase management, refunds, and App Store account activity are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
Because Medcytix does not currently operate a user account system or collect personal learning information on our own servers, we do not sell, rent, or trade users’ personal information.
We may disclose information only if required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request.
Apple may process purchase-related information when users make, restore, or manage App Store purchases.
Medcytix is designed to minimize data collection. Local learning data is stored on the user’s device and is protected by the security features of the device and operating system.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. However, we aim to reduce privacy risk by avoiding unnecessary collection of personal information.
Medcytix stores learning progress and settings locally on the user’s device for as long as the App remains installed or until the user clears or resets App data.
Users can delete locally stored App data by:
Using the App’s reset or clear progress option, if available
Clearing App data where supported by the device
Uninstalling the App
Because Medcytix does not currently provide user accounts or cloud storage, we do not have a server-side account profile to delete.
Medcytix is intended for medical students, health students, health professionals, and general educational users interested in medical terminology.
The App is not directed to young children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through support communication, please contact us so we can review the issue.

The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making guidance. The content is intended for educational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Medcytix may be used by learners in different countries. By using the App, users understand that the App is designed primarily as an educational tool and that local privacy laws may vary depending on location.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or privacy practices.
When we update this Privacy Policy, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after an update means users acknowledge the revised Privacy Policy.
