Here are some simple tips and tricks to help you get better sleep:
1.Get into a rythmic sleeping pattern, its called a sleep CYCLE, so it should be a cycle and not some inconsistent habit. Try to go to bed around the same time each day, and wake at around the same time every day, this way your body will help you wake up more energized and will help you wind down and fall asleep when it is time to.
2.Don't stay up until ungodly hours of the night, unless you're about to fling a curse at an enemy, there's no real reason to be awake at this hour.
3.Avoid watching horror movies, thrillers, action/ violence, murder mysteries, depressing ballads, and all that dark stuff that you don't want to dream about or wake up thinking about in the middle of the night. The subconscious is more receptive before sleeping so use this to your advantage and program some good stuff into your brain.
4.Watch what you eat, at least a couple hours before bed, if you're going to throw a feast for the gods or just eat a bunch of junk food, make sure you do it early and give your body some time to digest before going to sleep, having something light and heart will help you stay asleep and avoid waking up with stomach aches and cramps.
5. Read a book, yeah they're boring sometimes, but that'll help you sleep won't it?
6. Try to avoid screens and lights that are projected into your eyes, these decrease the brain's productions of melatonin, the chemical that helps you sleep, so this is something to consider for you insomniacs out there.
