The textbook we will use is Concepts of Biology by OpenStax, and is completely free!
The lab manual will be provided online, in Canvas. You can either print each lab from the manual, or bring a device to access it digitally.
You can learn more about required materials by choosing "Requirements" from the navigation.
Life happens, and sometimes we can't meet our obligations. LAVC's Attendance Policy requires that you attend all in-person lab meetings. However, you are allowed to have one unexcused absence during the semester.Â
If you are ill or something important happens to where you cannot attend, please reach out to me. We will work on how you can makeup your missed labs!
You can find my contact information by choosing "Contact Me" from the navigation.
All exams will be taken in person, except the Final Exam. The Final Exam will be online through Canvas, and will most likely be proctored using YuJa Verity (a proctoring extension for Chrome).
You can read more about proctoring software by choosing "Proctored Exams" from the navigation.
If you are a student in need of accommodation, I am more than willing to help you out! Please contact Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) to learn about how to request accommodation.
You can read more about SSD and other student services by choosing "Student Resources" from the navigation.
