"Rejecting the line, this architecture embraces the wave. Striped wood wraps the space in a tactile embrace, using contrast and controlled light to transform simple materials into a richly textured, intimate sanctuary."
The primary concept revolves around creating an intimate and immersive dining experience that transports guests. The warm, earthy tones and curvilinear forms evoke a sense of calm and natural flow, reminiscent of coastal landscapes or ancient architecture. While located in London, the design deliberately steps away from typical urban restaurant aesthetics, offering a tranquil escape.
A key innovation lies in the distinctive, ribbed arched walls. These are not merely decorative but serve as a defining architectural element, guiding the eye and creating a dynamic rhythm throughout the space. The dominant material for the walls appears to be a light-colored finished with horizontal striations that strongly suggest layers of sand or natural rock formations. This choice is crucial in transmitting the "sand" and "Greek" elements. The natural wood tables and chairs add warmth and an organic touch, complementing the earthy palette. The dark ceiling and track lighting provide a contemporary contrast, grounding the lighter elements and enhancing the intimacy.
